Devotions – Charlene
Finances – Anne presented the current financial information including a report on the MAF grant finances
- We have met all are targets so far with the exception of increased income
- Stewardship continues under Terry’s leadership
- More events are planned for the coming months
Youth Report:
- Presented by Rosemary outlining the most recent and upcoming activities
- Youth to get more involved with in parish activities and to participate in services going forward
Brief reports were provided:
- Strawberry Festival – well attended and made a profit
- Doors Open – well attended and although not a fund raiser made a small profit
- Summer Barbecues – weather was a factor and we had a small loss
- Summer Camp – great success – 36 campers and 14 teen leaders
Upcoming events:
- Oktoberfest Oct. 4th (first planning meeting tomorrow night @ 7:15)
- Robbie Burns Dinner Nov. 8th (first planning meeting soon – TBD)
- Back to Church Sunday / Pet Blessing
- Fall clean-up day – Saturday October 25th
Property matters
- Document has been produced to help event organizer understand their clean-up and garbage responsibilities
- New windows are now in
- Mark showed an example of the new light fixtures that take regular screw-in bulbs - that will be installed to replace the current track lighting
- Photos of our church windows are needed to complete an earlier mentioned project to create note cards and Christmas cards to sell

Event / Program Reviews
- Each program or event must have a purpose / mission / goal
- Each program or event will then be reviewed to ensure that it is meeting our needs, is it still working?
- Plan is to bring it up at a Town Hall meeting
Advisory Board
- Does the congregation know that they can attend an Advisory Board meeting if they’d like to
- All future minutes to be placed on the website so that everyone has access to see what’s being discussed
Lakeshore Café
- Mark presented a proposal from Christ Church St. James to request an OFOH grant to fund a (joint) new ministry at the “Big Guy’s Little Coffee Shop” on Lake Shore between Fourth & Fifth Streets
- Objective of the café church is to offer a welcoming environment to youth and young adults, particularly 18 to 30 demographic, all people would be warmly welcomed always – possibly weekly
Other Business
- Proposed and agreed to remove the large “permanent” basketball net and to replace it with a portable version like the ones you see in driveways
- Funeral Receptions – Elizabeth indicated that she can no longer assume this role. Another volunteer will need to be found. Thank you to Elizabeth for her work
- Mentioned that a thank you should be send to Mari Ann and Melinda Semkiw thanking them for the Sunday snacks provided in the summer
- Terry spoke about the Trillium Grant applications for funds to replace the roof over St. Agnes Hall – current cost estimate is $40,000
No guarantee that we will be awarded the funds - Coffee volunteer sheets is almost full – someone is still needed for clean-up on Sunday, September 28
