The Parish of St. Margaret’s seeks to demonstrate a courageous witness to the world of committed service in the name of Christ. Parishioners volunteer in many community organizations; support national, international, and local agencies that serve the needs of diverse peoples; contribute generously to the Diocese of Toronto Faith Works campaign and to local charities; and sponsor the following outreach ministries:

Each year St. Margaret’s partners with John G. Althouse Middle School to bring the spirit of Christmas to needy Lakeshore families. The student parliament of the school and the staff organize the donations. The parish of St. Margaret’s supplements the donations from the school to provide warm clothing, household necessities and gift cards for food items or specific last-minute gifts for the families. Last year the school and St. Margaret’s provided gifts for 13 families and 12 individuals. If you would like to make a donation or sponsor a family, please contact our office at 416-259-2659.
Out of the Cold: a ministry that provides a hot meal and emergency overnight accommodations to people who are homeless or hungry. Monday evenings at 6:00 pm from November until April.
This program is 100% volunteer run. Each week a team of volunteers prepare dinner plus a bagged lunch for our guests while another team handle the breakfast shift. Individuals assist with serving and cleanup. For more information or to volunteer please contact Cara at 416-255-5224.
Monthly Community Dinner: Every month St. Margaret’s welcomes members of our community for a pay-what-you-can, home-cooked meal, live music & fellowship. An amazing group of volunteers prepare & cook the food, serve our guests and clean up afterwards. Donations, both monetary and in-kind make this event possible. Please visit our Events page for upcoming dates and times.
